The PRBio Tech Hub, led by the Puerto Rico Science, Technology and Research Trust, aims to position the region as a global leader in biotechnology by accelerating the discovery, development, and manufacturing of next-generation medical and biotechnological products. The hub seeks to strengthen the U.S. biotechnology supply chain by leveraging Puerto Rico’s expertise in advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical development, and biopharmaceutical incubators. Key challenges the Tech Hub addresses include overcoming capital funding barriers, enhancing workforce development through innovative education programs, and advancing biotech manufacturing capabilities. By building state-of-the-art facilities, enabling tech-to-chemistry advancements, and supporting underserved communities, the hub strives to drive regional growth and meet future public health and national security needs.
