David Evans

Biography

David is the Managing Partner at Sentiero Ventures. In his role, he is searching for experienced founders that create software that incorporates artificial intelligence to solve real-world business problems. Via seed stage investments and ongoing support, David’s goal is to deliver the capital and operational excellence to foster outsized returns for investors and founders.

Prior to Sentiero, David founded Geode Software, a technology consulting firm. Since 2000, Geode has implemented technology solutions that make money, save money, or enhance customer experience in in travel, telemarketing, manufacturing, distribution, marketing, actuarial, occupational therapy, ecommerce, retail, government, professional services, and fund management. In addition to building solutions, David has been acting CTO for clients between $25-100M a year in revenue and has assisted multiple clients through acquisition.

As a part of Geode, David founded EasySeat tickets, an online ticket reseller/retailer, and within 5 years hit the Inc. 500. By 2015, when the company sold to an in-industry buyer, EasySeat was named a Tech Company to Watch by the Connecticut Technology Council, had been recognized for three consecutive years as one of the Marcum Tech Top 40 and had achieved Honor Roll status by being named to the Inc. 5000 list for five consecutive years.

Since 2010, David has been an active startup investor and advisor. He is currently a mentor with RevTech Ventures, Capital Factory, IITEAN, Impact Ventures, and the MIT Enterprise Forum. Since 2020, he has been the facilitator of the CometX accelerator at the University of Texas at Dallas.

David has been named to the Hartford Business Journal and Connecticut Magazine’s “40 under 40” list of bright young executives. His community support efforts include being on the United Way’s Social Innovation Accelerator Mentorship Committee and advisor to several social impact organizations whose primary focus is on serving the needs of children.

David is a graduate of the University of Connecticut, a former Beneficial Hodson Scholar at Johns Hopkins University, holds a Certificate in Corporate Finance from Harvard University and maintains numerous technology certifications.
