I'm originally from Medellin Colombia, came to the US in 2011 years ago to study at the University of Texas at Austin Physics and Mathematics. I graduated with Honors and wrote an undergraduate thesis on Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Force Microscopy. After this I got my PhD in physics at Penn State under David Weiss developing a quantum computer using neutral atoms. Since finishing my PhD I have been working in a startup in New York designing and deploying quantum telecommunications hardware. I am an experimental AMO physicist, meaning I specialize in using lasers and atoms to demonstrate and use quantum phenomena.
