Patrick George

Biography

Patrick is the Managing Partner of Beachwood Ventures, a venture capital and advisory firm he founded in 2018. He currently serves on the board of Hover Energy, a wind technology company that is transforming how businesses embrace renewable energy; is an Advisor to Virtuelly, a virtual content aggregation platform; and an Advisor to MineralAnswers.com, a technology platform that brings transparency to mineral ownership. As an advisor or board member, Patrick’s focus is on fundraising, strategy, operations, and talent acquisition. As a US Marine, Patrick is passionate about an initiative to employ veterans in leadership positions across the portfolio.

Between 2015 and 2020, Patrick was co-founder and president of Accelerate Resources, a technology- and data-driven energy company that specializes in the acquisition and management of upstream oil and gas assets. Accelerate is backed with $300 million by New York-based private equity firm Pine Brook Partners, and after 150 acquisitions Accelerate built a portfolio that is in the top 7%, by well results, in the country. During his tenure, Patrick led Accelerate through two of the worst oil price crashes in a generation, and experienced negative oil prices for the first time in history. He successfully negotiated an additional $100 million in capital during this time, and lead Accelerate to be one of the few energy companies that was cashflow positive in 2020.

For the past 16 years, Patrick has served his country with distinction in the United States Marine Corps. He completed two combat tours to Iraq, as an infantry platoon commander and later served as a Recon Company Commander. Patrick is a twice recipient of the Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal and continues to serve as a Major. He is a graduate of Command & Staff College, Expeditionary Warfare School, and was the top academic graduate at TBS.

Patrick holds an MBA from the Johnson School at Cornell University, where he was a Roy H. Park Leadership Fellow and Nolan Scholar. He earned a BA in Economics and Government from the University of Texas at Austin and is a recipient of the Frank J. Ruck Leadership award. Patrick serves on the Advisory Council to Cornell’s Johnson School.

Patrick is a member of Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and serves on the National Council for the DC based think-tank, American Enterprise Institute. He was recently recognized as an EY Entrepreneur of the Year nominee, Dallas Business Journal’s Top 40 under 40, and Oil and Gas Investor’s Top 40 under 40. Patrick resides in Dallas and enjoys fly fishing, shooting, and geopolitics.
