Advanced Scanners has invented “ORVis,” a 3D surface scanner and machine vision platform that tracks the position of patient anatomy during surgery. They are working with leading medical technology companies toward commercial solutions for procedures with a $200B+ US annual spend.
The company has a term sheet and is looking for fill-in capital.
According to the FDA, the failure of surgical navigation systems to adequately track changes in the position of patient anatomy during surgery is leading to “patient deaths, life-threatening injuries, and failed, aborted, and prolonged medical procedures."
