Program management offices at the Department of Defense (DOD), engineers at suppliers to the DOD, and other general industry solution providers that place a high value on cutting-edge cybersecurity, struggle with using a patchwork of commercial-off-the-shelf software to design and integrate solutions at the edge. These tools simply do not enable solutions that satisfy DOD's requirements for cybersecurity. This is an impediment to deploying AI-enabled solutions on critical infrastructure. Fathom5 solves this problem with its product, TempestOS. Tempest is a built-for-purpose operating system that enables security-first design and integration so that edge solution providers can satisfy DOD and other advanced cybersecurity requirements.

To our knowledge, Fathom5 is the only company to successfully build and integrate an AI enabled edge solution on a US Navy warship as a Program of Record. This required Fathom5 to take a unique "security first" approach to its solution design and the effort yielded a unique development and runtime environment and it now markets as a product called TempestOS. TempestOS is a purpose built platform to build unique AI-enabled solutions at the edge for the DOD and other organizations that place high value on advanced security. Fathom5 and its key employees have secured facilities clearance, secret clearances, and other credentials necessary to transact and fulfill DOD engagements both as a prime- and sub-contractor.
