Problem: Colic is #1 natural case of death in horses that largely presents overnight while these animals are unsupervised. If detected early, colic is easily remedied through analgesics and movement of the animal to induce gut motility. However, if detection is delayed or left unresolved, colic can result in costly surgery, disability, and death. Solution: Noninvasive remote monitoring of a horse's physiologic parameters (ie, biometrics, behavior) via the NIGHTWATCH® smart halter™ to identify markers of pain/distress so caretakers can be alerted and intervene sooner and veterinarians can make more informed clinical decisions based on real-time objective personalized data.
