Card.io is gamified movement app turning outdoor cardio into a community-based game of team turf war. Users can join or form teams & claim or steal the areas of town they walk around in their city, all while still tracking stats like mile pace, distance and calories burned!. This can also be white-labeled for companies' internal corporate wellness programs.
Lets face it...cardio sucks. It’s no secret that the majority of people around the world don’t enjoy cardio fitness, especially running. And the numbers back this up: 78% of adults are below the recommended daily activity minimums, 25% of adults report no physical activity at all in their leisure time, and only 19% of adults do cardio fitness activity daily. Yet the most popular cardio fitness apps in the world, with hundreds of millions of users, still haven’t been able to tap into this market; Meanwhile, apps like Pokemon Go, Zombies, Run! and other location-based games have shown significant increases in low-activity population’s activity levels. And that's where Card.io comes in: a gamified cardio fitness app taking the gamification of Pokemon Go and mixing it with the functionality of Strava, by turning outdoor cardio into a team game of turf war. Users claim and steal areas of town from each other by walking and running through parts of town, while still tracking their mile pace, distance, calories and more! Through this, we're making every single movement feel like a win, while also creating fun habit loops to make cardio fun and addictive for everyone.
