Lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries are sub-optimal for military readiness: lead-acid fails when left discharged, lithium-ion cannot charge below -10°C, poses fire propagation risks at 250°C, and most lithium cells are manufactured in FEOC (Foreign Entity of Concern) countries, creating supply-chain vulnerabilities for the U.S. military.

Their cells support zero-SOC storage for 10-year shelf life, charge at -40°C, deliver 16C high-power pulses, have not exhibited fire propagation at high temperatures, and are fully NDAA/FEOC supply-chain compliant.
Coulomb has secured $2.4M in mostly non-dilutive funding including a Navy SBIR Phase I award, two DOE awards (LEEP/Innovation Crossroads and Cradle to Commerce), and accelerator programs including Techstars AL/Alabama Power, NJ Pilot Demo, Calseed, and NENY ChargeUp. LaunchTN has committed $500K as a follow-on to the current $3M seed raise.
