The Minnesota MedTech Hub 3.0 (MMT3.0), led by the Minneapolis Saint Paul Economic Development Partnership, aims to address the fragmented integration of AI, machine learning, and data science in medical technology. By leveraging Minnesota's robust medical technology ecosystem, which includes hospitals, research institutions, and medical device manufacturers, MMT3.0 seeks to develop a shared operating protocol for medical data, fostering regional information-sharing and collaboration. The hub will unify assets across the MedTech value chain, enhance access to healthcare data and expertise, attract capital for innovators, support entrepreneurs, and build a diverse workforce. Key initiatives include extending HIPAA-compliant data networks, supporting entrepreneurial innovation, increasing capital availability, addressing talent gaps through an equity-driven strategy, and establishing Smart MedTech HQ to accelerate regional innovation. The consortium is committed to prioritizing diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility to build a more equitable economy.
