Today, genetic sequencing is clinically valuable but operationally inaccessible for most labs. The bottleneck is not the sequencer itself, but the up-front workflow: sample prep, library prep, and cleanup. These steps are manual, slow, and difficult to scale for diagnostic testing throughputs. As a result, sequencing remains concentrated in specialized, low-scale centers instead of reaching the much broader clinical markets that need it.

Apogene has demonstrated proof-of-concept across the core pre-sequencing workflow (sample prep, library prep, and cleanup). The platform has been substantially de-risked through $3.6M in NIH-supported development at UC San Diego, with internal modeling indicating a disruptive cost position relative to current complex genetic sequencing workflows. Apogene is also in active dialogue with the market leader in sequencing regarding strategic collaboration and financing.
