Heartland BioWorks, led by the Applied Research Institute, aims to address the critical need for a robust biotechnology and biomanufacturing capacity in Central Indiana. Despite the region's strengths in research, pharmaceuticals, and logistics, there is a gap in effectively leveraging these assets to catalyze biotech innovation and strengthen the national biotechnology supply chain. The Tech Hub seeks to overcome barriers in workforce development, access to facilities, and funding for early-stage innovators, ensuring the rapid discovery, development, commercialization, and deployment of next-generation bioproducts. Additionally, it focuses on inclusivity, aiming to connect historically excluded groups to high-quality jobs and opportunities within the biotech sector.
