Now Cuisine

Autonomous 'satellite restaurants' that solve the core issues with 3rd-party delivery for both restaurants and consumers

About Now Cuisine

Now Cuisine is a restaurant tech startup building a highly-scalable network of autonomous “satellite restaurant" kiosks that serve hot, customizable, affordable meals on demand in virtually any location. Our vision is to democratize access to high-quality food while solving key industry pain points. Our full, did-it-before team of food automation and 3D printing industry experts includes a CEO who brought the 1st 3D printer to market and founded two exited startups, and a CTO who pioneered robotic foodservice kiosks and exited to Coke.

Our Hardware-as-a-Service business model leverages the foodservice operations of our customers and the branding and recipes of popular restaurants to yield SaaS-like unit economics with recurring revenues and ~80% gross margins. Our proprietary zero-food-contact technology ensures food safety, bypasses the need for machine cleaning, and enables highly efficient operations.

Our kiosks can go nearly anywhere since deployment barriers such as special utilities and facilities have been eliminated: They give people in convenience stores, hotels, office and multifamily buildings, colleges, and other locations immediate access to restaurant-quality meals. Locations benefit from a competitive amenity, employee productivity boost, and new revenue source. Restaurants get a new way to scale quickly without labor, real estate, CapEx, or risk, greatly expanding their reach while promoting their brands.

Problem statement

In too many locations, good food is hard to find. People typically must drive to a restaurant, or resort to third-party delivery (e.g., DoorDash), paying up to double and waiting up to an hour for meals which often degrade in transit. Meanwhile, restaurants become isolated from their customers, see their margins reduced, and must juggle delivery drivers along with dine-in customers.
